Alfonso C Santangelo

Alfonso C Santangelo, 88, of W. Norriton, PA, died Saturday, December 27, 2008, surrounded by his family at Arden Courts, King of Prussia, PA where he had been residing since March 2007. Born in Norristown, PA, August 19, 1920, he was the husband of Catherine (Diliberto) Santangelo and son of the late Mary (Allegro) and Charles Santangelo. He enjoyed his family, fishing, gardening, visiting the casinos, and traveling with his family and friends in his motor-home. He was a member of the John F. Kennedy Council 4153, Knights of Columbus, and the Fr. Tomko General Assembly 4th Degree, member of Holy Saviour Church, the LAM-Valley Forge Lodge 1776, OSIA, and a Dale Carnegie Institute graduate. He was in business with his late brother Matthew in Charles Santangelo & Sons, Norristown Fuel Oil and Twin Town Concrete, Telford, PA; and a graduate class of 1938 from the former A D Eisenhower High School. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Maryann, wife of Dave Stagliano, Sr. of E. Norriton, PA; Janice, wife of Frank Dusik, Sr. of Norristown, PA; Karen, wife of John Sr. Couchara of E. Norriton, PA; 8 Grandchildren: David and his wife Adrienne Stagliano, Jr., Brian and his wife Denise Stagliano and Dana and her husband Jim Tornetta, Stephanie and Frank Dusik, Jr., and John and his wife Tracie Couchara, Jr., Jennifer and her husband Chris Carter, and Jarred Couchara; 8 Great-grandchildren; and siblings: Michael Santangelo of Norristown, PA; John and wife Anna May Santangelo of E Norriton, PA; Jennie Palmiero of W Norriton, PA; and Cede Cinaglia of W Norriton, PA. In addition to his parents and brother, he was preceded in death by siblings: Catherine Santangelo, Anthony Santangelo. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Ntn., PA and on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 from 8:30 - 9:15 AM at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA. Funeral Mass 9:30 AM from Holy Saviour Church at the above address.
