Alfred 'Gabby' Gambone

Alfred A. 'Gabby' Gambone, 78, of Norristown, PA, died April 12, 2009 at the University of PA Hospital. Mr. Gambone was the husband of Gloria (Manetti) and son of the late Maria (Paschall) and Stanley C. Gambone, Sr. Mr. Gambone retired from PECO, where he worked for over 30 years, was an avid reader, gardner and Penn State football fan who loved to tease his grandchildren. He was also a proud Roman Catholic and lifetime member of Holy Saviour Parish. He was a marine veteran, serving during the Korean War. In addtion to his wife, he is survived by 8 children: Alfred A. (Colleen), Jr. of Connecticut; Stephen J. (Isabella), of Jeffersonville; Matthew M. (Maureen), of Jeffersonville; Carmen S. (Stephanie), of Lansdale; Kenneth G., of Jeffersonville; Teresa Currie, of W. Chester; Jane (Brian) Reeves, of Phoenixville; and Maria (Sam) Schoenberg, of Blue Bell; 18 grandchildren: Marc, Matthew, Gina, and Thomas Gambone; Brian & Karl Hinger; Jennifer Gambone; Federica Caloia; Gabrielle Gambone; John, Sean, Evan Currie; Stephanie, Michael, Douglas Reeves; and Valerie, Dominic, and Justin Gambone; and brothers Stanley C. (Mary), Sr., of Jeffersonville and Justo V. Gambone, of Trooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Raymond 'Barr' Gambone, Ann Anastasia, and Teresa Gambone . The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 16, 2009, 7 - 9 pm & Friday, April 17, 2009, 9:30- 10:30 am at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn. Funeral Mass at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main Street, Norristown on April 17, 2009, at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Patrick's Cem., E Norriton, PA.
