Anthony L. Buono

Anthony L. Buono, 93, of East Norriton passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 19, 1931 in Norristown he was the son of the late Constantino & Anna (Raimondi) Buono, and the loving husband of Olympia (Bove) Buono.

Anthony was a lifelong resident of Norristown, PA. He was a graduate of Norristown High School Class of 1949. Anthony would go on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Army stationed in France during the Korean War. Upon his return, Anthony worked for many years as a driver for Volpe Express until his retirement. Anthony was also a dedicated parishioner of Holy Saviour Church and was also involved in many church groups and community organizations such as the Senior Citizens Club and the Catholic War Veterans of Norristown. 

Anthony enjoyed going to the racetrack and watching the horses race with his family and friends. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed weekly Sunday dinners with his family and tending to his garden whenever he had the opportunity. He looked forward to summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ with his children and grandchildren. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest fan. But most of all he cherished just spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  He will be missed by many.  

In addition to his beloved wife, Anthony is survived by his two loving daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Pellechia, and Michelle (Stephen) Orman, six grandchildren, Stephen Orman Jr., Michael (Christine) Orman, Lauren (James) Taylor, Adrienne (Justin) Williams, Joseph A. (Angela) Pellechia, Stephanie Orman and eight great- grandchildren, Lillianna, Nathan, Corinna, Luke, Matthew, Vincent, Grace, and Nicholas.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his siblings, Rose, Jennie, Joseph, Francis, and Nicholas.  He also had many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Anthony on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 9:30-11:00 am at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St. Norristown, PA 19401. A funeral mass will follow the viewing at 11:00 am at the church. Entombment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Mausoleum, East Norriton, PA.
