Antoinette Santoro

Antoinette (Flamini) Santoro, 96, of Norristown died on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Regina Nursing Center, Norristown, PA. Born January 9, 1916 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Filomena (Arcara) and Frank Flamini, and wife of the late Pasquale Santoro, who died in 1976. A former Black Horse section resident of Plymouth Meeting, she had been residing at Regina Nursing Center for the past 5 years. Known as 'Babe" she graduated from Pierce Business School, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and going to the casinos. A member of Holy Saviour Church, and a 23 yr. employee of the Children's Aid Society of Montgomery County, retiring in 1986. At ages 10 -22, along with her late brother, they had a vaudeville act, known as Charley and Babe, performing along the Northeast, playing in many local area venues, including Palumbo's of So. Phila; which is how she came to live in this area since 1938. Survivors include 2 sons: Charles (Reenie) Santoro, of East Norriton; Francis (Betsy) Santoro, of Wayne; grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie) Santoro, Carla Santoro, Gregory Santoro, Katherine Santoro, Natalie Santoro; sister in law, Alberta (Carbo) Flamini, formerly of Norristown now living in Erie, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Flamini. Visitation Monday, January 23, 2012 from 8:30 - 9:15 am, at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn, PA. Funeral Mass from Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St., Ntn., PA at 9:30 am. Interment St. Patrick's Cem, DeKalb Pk, E. Norriton, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Assoc., One Plymouth Meeting, Suite 520, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 and or the Regina Nursing Center, 550 E. Fornance St., Ntn., PA 19401.
