Betty Lasorda

Betty (Cook) Lasorda, 79, of Norristown, PA, died Friday, July 17, 2009 after an illness. Born in Cowpens, SC, she was the wife of Edward A. Lasorda, and daughter of the late Brady and Lunie (Reynolds) Cook. Mrs. Lasorda was a resident of Lower Providence Twp., she assisted her husband and his brothers at their restaurant, Lasorda's Tavern in the Marchwood Shopping Center as hostess and manager for over 10 years. Afterwards, she was a hostess at the Pizzaria Uno, King of Prussia for over 15 years. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, going to the casinos in Atlantic City and was a member of Visitation BVM Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 granddaughters: Elizabeth (Christopher) Gomez, Laura Soriano Coia, both of Norristown; 4 great grandchildren: Olivia, Ava & Robert Gomez, and Lindsay Coia; 3 sisters: Lois Bridges, Cowpens, SC; Nan Berry, Greensboro, NC; and Jo Ann (Morris) Lasorda, Malvern, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Aurelio & Carmella Soriano; and siblings: Bud Cook, Jim Cook, Louise Keenan, and Agnes New. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 20, 2009, from 7 - 9 pm & Tuesday, July 21, 2009, from 8:30 - 9:15 am at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA. Funeral Mass at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N Trooper Rd., Trooper PA, at 10 AM. Entombment St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to Vitas Hospice, 1740 Walton Rd., Blue Bell, PA 19422
