Camilla Sica (Nogarotto) was born in Portogruaro Italy on February 4, 1929 and passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 at the age of 96. Having immigrated to the United States from Montella in 1956 she was a long time resident of Norristown PA, and a devoted parishioner of Holy Saviour Church for many years. She was the daughter of the late Luigi Nogarotto & Angela (Pupulin) Nogarotto and the beloved wife of the late Claudino Sica. Also preceding her in death were her 4 sisters Valentina Rezzadore, Anna Dipinto, Giuseppina Zanettin and Antoinetta Bernardi.
Camilla is survived by her children, Ralph Sica and his wife Pamela Shaffer of Tampa Florida, and Albert Sica and his wife Sandy Davis of Venice Florida. Camilla was also a loving grandmother to four grandchildren, Michelle Sica, wife of Brett Goldberg of Miami Florida, Anthony Sica husband of Ashley Knoblach of St. Petersburg Florida, Veronica Sica, wife of Karl Johnson of Columbus Georgia, and Vincent Sica and his fiancé Jules Bozzelli of Doylestown PA. Camilla is also survived by four beautiful great granddaughter's, Cami, Sienna Goldberg, Juliette Johnson and Elle Sica. In addition to many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Camilla was born and raised in her early years in Portogruaro Italy. In the mid-1930s, as a result of her father’s work, she moved with her family to Gondar Ethiopia. While they were living there WW2 broke out, her father got drafted into the Italian army and subsequently became a Prisoner of War. The entire Family including her 4 sisters and Mother along with thousands of other Italian refuges were put on a red cross ship and sent home to Trieste Italy, 60 days on a ship through 2 equator crossings and the strait of Gibraltar. After the War the family reunited with their father and the family then moved to Montella Italy. Camilla met her future husband; they wed had their first child and decided to immigrate to the United States in 1956.
Camilla was an excellent homemaker, she mastered both southern and northern Italian cooking, raised two sons, and worked full time. She studied diligently for the naturalization test and in the early 1970s proudly became a citizen of the United States. Camilla was a devout Catholic, a follower of Padre Pio, she often prayed for his intercession, and she strived to live by his teachings, "pray, hope, and don't worry". Camilla worked many years at Victory Manufacturing in Plymouth Meeting PA, from where she retired.
Upon her retirement, she enjoyed watching and caring for her grandchildren, gardening, traveling and attending many Italian intercultural events.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Camilla's viewing on Tuesday December 9, 2025 from 9:00AM-10:00AM at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St. Norristown PA. Mass will follow the calling time at 10:00AM at the church. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton PA.
