Obit for: Camillo Zappacosta Camillo Zappacosta, 83, of Plymouth Meeting on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at his residence. Born May 25, 1928 in Bucchianico, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Chiara (DiMunzio) and Luigi Zappacosta, and husband of Maria (Ruzzi) Zappacosta. Mr. Zappacosta lived through the invasion of WW II in Italy, then as an adult lived in Venezuela in the early 1950's, then moved back to Italy, married and eventually immigrated to the United States in 1962 living in the Chestnut Hill area. Having celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary, he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, trips to the casino, and making wine and prosciutto. At his home, he especially enjoyed his swimming pool, but did not know how to swim, which always gave his family a chuckle. He was a union laborer as a terrazzo finisher, retiring in 1993. Survivors in addition to his wife include 2 daughters: Grace (Joseph) D'Orazio, of Plymouth Meeting; Laura (Mitchell) Laskin, of Dresher; grandchildren: Tina (Colin) Gedgard, Dr. Joseph (Linda) D'Orazio, Sarah Laskin, and Brian Laskin; great-grandchildren, Alexis & Olivia Gedgard; siblings: Bruno Zappacosta, of Venezuela; Maria Cocco, Esterina (Cesare) Marusco, and Guistina (Francesco) Visano, all of Italy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 siblings: Linda and Genuine Zappacosta. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 9 - 9:45 am, at St. Paul's Church, 2007 New Hope St., Ntn., PA. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 am. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422 and/or St. Camillo deLillis Foundation
