Charles Billitto Obituary

Charles P. Billitto, 64, of Skippack, formerly of Norristown, passed away on October 29th in the thoughts and company of his family. Charles, or Rock as he was known to his friends, was born on November 12, 1946 in Montgomery Hospital to Paul and Lena (Bolognese) Billitto of East Marshall St. He grew up in the east end of Norristown and attended Holy Saviour School and Parish. He was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School where he played football for 4 years. While at Kenrick, he met his future wife Kathleen Law of Norristown. After High School, Charles attended Peirce College where he was a member of the Pi Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences with a degree in Business. He married Kathleen in 1967 in a ceremony held at St. Francis of Assisi Church and they continued to make Norristown and Skippack their home for the next 45 years. He was an active member of the community as a Coach with the Norristown Raiders, Holy Saviour and Bishop Kenrick Football programs and also coached and was a sponsor for the Norris Hills Baseball and Basketball League. He was a long time supporter of Philadelphia professional sports and held Eagles season tickets for 42 years, through part of 5 decades and 3 stadiums. Along with his support of local athletics, Charles was a charter member of the Valley Forge 1776 Sons of Italy Lodge. Charles was a local businessman having owned and operated a local State Farm Insurance Agency in Norristown and Fairview Village for more than 30 years. He retired in 2007. Absolutely nothing came before family and he is most proud of his two sons Charles Jr. (Rocky) and David. His family extended to the care and love of pets including our beloved adopted dogs Chi, Pepper and later Shygirl (Simply the Best). He is survived by his mother Lena (Bolognese) Billitto of Norristown, his wife Kathleen (Law) Billitto of Skippack, son Charles P. (Rocky) Billitto Jr. and wife Melissa and their daughter Olivia of Middletown, DE, his son David and wife Pam of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by Sister in Law Loretta Bondi and her husband Joseph of East Norriton, Sister in Law Rosemarie Foley and her late husband John Edward Foley of Lancaster, PA, numerous Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and was proud to be a Godfather to Joseph, Bobby, Paige, and Haley throughout his life. Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at St. Eleanor's Church of Collegeville and will include a visitation from 9- 10:30 am, with a mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10:30 am.
