Charles W. Priest, 90, of Norristown on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Rittenhouse Pine Nursing Center, Norristown, PA. Born August 23, 1920 in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Powers) and Thomas Priest, and husband of Eva (Cotteta) Priest. Mr. Priest, affectionately known as 'Uncle Pal', was a retired quality control - leadman for Superior Tube, retiring in 1982 after 42 years. He was a WW II Naval veteran, serving aboard the USS Lunga Point (cve94), awarded the Pacific Theater (4 stars), Philippine Theater (1 star), American Theater and Victory medals. He was a graduate of the former Norristown HS, class of 1939, and member of Holy Saviour Church and Senior Citizens group. Survivors include sister, Helen Marinari, of Norristown and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 siblings: John Priest, Earl Priest, Thomas Priest, Betty Smale, Mary Romano, and Caroline Picone. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 9 - 10:45 am, at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA. Funeral Mass at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St., Ntn., PA at 11 am. Burial St. Patrick's Cem, DeKalb Pk, E. Ntn., PA.
