Dorothy D Eckert

Dorothy D. (Fennelly) Eckert, 86, of Norristown, PA on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009. Born in Norristown, PA, May 2, 1922, she was the wife of John F. Eckert and daughter of the late Edward and Cahterine (Sauscerman) Fennelly. A graduate of Norristown HS, she was an over 30 yr. volunteer with the former St. Patrick's School library, and along with her husband served in various other capacities with the school and church. She was also a supervisor with Bell Telephone Co leaving to raise her family. In addition to her husband of over 62 years, she is survived by 5 children: Paul Eckert, of Collingswood, NJ; Gregory (Kathleen) Eckert, of Ft. Collins, CO; Mary Ann Brown, of Swarthmore, PA; Susan Foley, of Littlestown, PA; Louise Eckert, of Norristown, PA; 6 grandchildren: Lauren & Carey Brown; Daniel & Kathleen Folwy, and Gareth & Hadden Eckert. 2 sisters: Catherine McCabe, of Norristown, PA and Eleanor Kennedy, of Harleysville., PA.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son John Eckert in 1997, and 4 siblings: Mary Kehoe, Leo, Raymond and John Fennelly. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 9 - 9:50 am at St. Patrick's Church, 714 Dekalb St., Norristown, PA. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dekalb Pike, E. Norriton Twp., PA. The family would appreciate Mass Cards and/or donations to St. Patrick's Church, at the above address
