E. Hofsas Obituary

Obit for: E. Roberts Hofsas E. Roberts Hofsas, 80, of Norristown passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at the Einstein Hospital Montgomery, East Norriton Pennsylvania. Born February 2, 1932 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Eli and Marion (Smith) Hofsas, and husband of Ada Doris Angstadt. Mr. Hofsas was an Army Korean War Veteran whose time was spent in the Ordnance Corps from 1952-1954., and was an avid collector of Civil War memorabilia. He worked as a controller for Bell Telephone for many years, and was also a Pioneer Club member for the Bell of PA Retired Employees. As a committed and active member of the First Baptist Church of Norristown, he served as a church usher, trustee and moderator. He was a member and past trustee of the Christian Workers Class, a past board member of Friends of Solitude (the home of John Penn, grandson of William Penn, located on the grounds of the Philadelphia Zoo), the "Hind Quarter's" Retiree Group, and also the Historic Restoration group. Memorial Service to be held at First Baptist Church of Norristown, 445 Burnside Avenue, West Norriton, Pennsylvania on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 12:30 pm. Service announcement will also be posted on First Baptist Church website: www.fbcnorristown.org when determined. Burial will be at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer Association and First Baptist Church of Norristown.
