Elsie Churgai

Elsie M. (Paul) Churgai, 88, of Norristown died on Monday, October 31, 2011, at her daughter's residence in Skippack Twp. Born April 15, 1923 in Bridgeport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Antoinetta (DeClement) and Dominic Paul, and wife of the late Alexander J. Churgai. A Norristown resident, she was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church and their Ladies of St. Francis group. Survivors include two daughters; Jo Anne (Ronald) Rodgers, Easton, PA; Debra (Harry Rizzo) Lauro, of Skippack, PA; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brother; Edward (Carmella) Paul, of Norristown, sister-in-law, Emma Paul, of Bridgeport, Jane Paul, of Littleton, CO and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings: James Paul, Peter Paul, Angelo Paul, Joseph Paul, and Carmella Fiano, and granddaughter, Jennifer Richardson. Friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 9:30 - 10:15 am, at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Marshall and Buttonwood St. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am. Burial St. Augustine Cemetery, DeKalb Pk, Upper Merion Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton Street Norristown, PA 19401.
