Frances “Franny” (DiNicola) Loghing, 95, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Sunday September 10, 2023 at the Meadows at Shannondell surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 29, 1927 in Norristown she was the daughter of the late Luigi & Rose DiNicola, and the loving wife of the late Joseph Loghing, Sr.
Frances was a Norristown High School graduate, class of 1945, upon graduating she would go on to work for the Norristown Box Co. for many years until her retirement. Frances would later move to Bridgeport with her beloved husband and became very involved in the community. Franny was a dedicated parishioner of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, as well as the Sacred Heart Church, and was also involved in many church groups and organizations such as cooking at the Mount Carmel Feast, the Ladies Sodality, the Mount Carmel School Mothers Club, and was always there to lend a helping hand when it came to cleaning the church and assisting those around her. Franny was also dedicated to her community and was a member of the Bridgeport & Upper Merion Senior Citizens, and the Bridgeport Bowling League. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling to the Jersey Shore with her loving family, and later in life enjoyed taking casino bus trips with the senior citizens group to Atlantic City. Franny also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her grandchildren and close friends, creating ceramics and pottery, and most of all baking her famous Christmas cookies for her family and friends which was a tradition that was carried on for over 30 years. But most of all Franny enjoyed spending time with her family, she was a loving mother, grandmother, “Granny Franny”, and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be missed by many.
Frances is survived by her three loving children, Joseph Loghing, Jr., Debbie (John) Cane, and Diane (Pete) Cabrey; Five grandchildren, Jennifer (the late Brian) Janus, Christina (Michael) Logan, Michael, Colleen (Josh Fluck) Cabrey, and Natalie (Joe) Pirner; She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, Atlas, Gemma, and Giuliana.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Frances was preceded in death by her grandson-in-law, Brian Janus.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Frances on Friday September 15, 2023 from 9:00AM – 10:15AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St, Bridgeport, PA 19405. Mass will follow the viewing at 10:30AM at the church. Burial will take place in the St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Frances to the Saint Padre Pio Shrine, 111 Barto Rd, Barto, PA 19504.
