Francis Sabatino,,. Sr Obituary

Frank is survived by Francis "Frank" Vincent Sabatino, Jr., 86, died March 26, 2012 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 3, 1925 to a large Italian immigrant family. Frank was the son of the now deceased Mary (Mingone) and Alexandar DiSabatino. A product of the Catholic School system, Frank attended Our Lady of Victory Elementary School, West Catholic HS and Villanova Univ. He is an alumnus of Temple Univ. where he achieved his life's long goal of an Engineering degree. He was married to Aurora Dolores Gennari on August 14, 1948 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in N E Phila. He remained married for 43 years until her death on March 31, 1991. After marrying, Frank and his young family moved to King of Prussia, PA in 1950 where he was a founding member of Mother of Divine Providence Church and remained an active member for over 45 years. He remained a lifelong resident until moving to assisted living in Phoenixville in 2003. As an engineer Frank had a long illustrious career spanning 40 yrs. working in both Aircraft and computer industries. 32 of those years were spent at Unisys Corp, where he held patents for electromechanical sorting machines; core memory processor's and help design both the Pershing and Sergeant Missile Computer's. Before retiring from Unisys Frank developed the first employee suggestion program which he ran for 5 years. During those years the program was responsible for tens of millions of dollars in savings and became the model for all future programs. Frank was a founding member of the LAM Valley Forge Lodge #1776, Order Sons of Italy in America, where he was their first secretary which he remained from 1976 until 1996 when he was appointed Secretary Emeritus and honored for his years of service to the values set forth by the Sons of Italy. He remained a dedicated servant of his church, family, friends and community throughout his long life. His love of God and family were the cornerstones of his entire life and the impact he had on everyone he met was always positive. His signature smile and gentle personality would light up the room. his sons, Frank V. Sabatino, Jr., of Chalfont; Mark A. (Ana) Sabatino, of Bucktown; daughter Diane (Elman) Anderson, of Spring City; 6 grandchildren: Frank Sabatino, III; Gina Benitez Sabatino; Gabrielle Wagner Sabatino; Alexis Lauren Sabatino; Christopher Anderson; and Jennica Anderson; siblings: Raymond (Connie) Sabatino, of Havertown; and Loretta Giordano, Marlton, NJ. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 3 - 5 PM at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn, PA and Monday, April 2, 2012 from 9 - 950 AM at MDP Church, Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA with funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Research, c/o LAM Valley Forge Lodge #1776, PO Box 60583, King of Prussia, PA 19406
