Frank Buono

Frank S. Buono, 84, of Leesburg, FL, passed away February 20, 2010, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg. He was the husband of Mary (Smith) Buono who preceded him in death in February 2007. Born in Norristown, PA on August 1, 1925, he was the son of the late Constantino and Anna (Raimondi) Buono. A former Norristown resident, he had been residing in Leesburg, Florida since 2004. Before retiring, he was the owner of Frank Buono Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 through 1945 and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was an original founding member and past commodore of the Norristown Boat Club, past officer of the AMVETS, and former member of the Moose. He is survived by daughters Mary Ann Daniel of Tampa, FL; Patricia (Frank) Cosmi of Leesburg, FL; and son Francis R. "Bud" Buono of Port Indian; brother Anthony (Olympia) Buono of East Norriton; sister Jennie Scholl of York; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Joe and Nick and his sister, Rose. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. will follow at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main Street, Norristown. Entombment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dekalb Pike, E. Norriton Twp., PA.
