Frank Mandrachia, age 94, passed away peacefully Monday February 1st, 2010 at Regina Nursing Center, Norristown. Born in Sciacca, Sicily, Italy May 2, 1915, he was the husband of the late Sue (Angello) and son of the late Michael and Antoinette (Santangelo) Mandrachia. Frank was a longtime Bridgeport resident, a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, and a WW II army veteran. Affectionately known as "Frank the Huckster", he was self-employed in the fruit and produce business, having owned the recognizable "Red Bus" seen around the Bridgeport area selling his wares until 1992 when he retired from active selling. He then worked part time in various retail businesses in the area. Frank loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and had a lifetime of enjoyment playing musical instruments. He was a member of the Army band and, after the war, played the clarinet in the Verdi band. Frank is survived by 6 sons: Michael (Maria) of East Norriton, Gus (Anne) of Newark, DE, Joseph (Linda) and Steven (Patricia) both of Eagleville, John & Paul both of Bridgeport, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Sue, his spouse of 61 years, his daughter Ann Marie, and 8 siblings: Harry, Paul, Eva Sutera, Lillian Reese, Elizabeth Perillo, Frances Mash, Angeline Bittner and Mary Cannali. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 8:45 9:45 am Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church , Ford & Union Aves., Bridgeport, PA 19405. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton., PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to the church at the above address
