George J. Washinko

George J. Washinko, 55, of Norristown passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born May 26, 1957 in Norristown, he was the son of the late George and Frances (DeGrazio)Washinko, and loving husband to Mary (Meacham) Washinko . In addition to his wife, George is survived by two sons; George Washinko (fiance Jennifer), of Conshohocken; and Brandon Washinko, of Norristown. One sister; Veronica (Bruce) McGuigan, of East Norriton; and two step-grandchildren; Hailey & Emily. For many years George was involved in Norristown Little League Baseball, as a player in his youth and as a coach to his sons' teams. George was a lead man and inspector at Handy & Harmen Tube Company for 31 years. After the closing of Handy & Harmen, he was employed as an inspector at SPS Technologies until his disability. He was a father figure to many of his sons' friends, as well as being a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. To his many brother and sister in laws, George was the older brother that many of them never had. He had a strong love for music and a wicked sense of humor. No one was ever safe from his practical jokes or humorous comments, even his mother-in-law. But most importantly, George was a loving husband and father who was very proud of his two sons. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law; Diana and Donnie Loader, and father-in-law, William Meacham. George is now at rest with his loved ones that have since passed, as well as with John Lennon and George Harrison. He was a well known Beatles fanatic. To quote Lennon's Instant Karma, "We all shine on, like the moon, the stars and the sun." George will be shining on in our hearts and in our memories. Family and friends will be received on Sunday evening, December 02, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm, and Monday, December 03, 2012, from 8:30-9:15 am, at the Caramenico Funeral Home, Main & Walnut Streets, Ntn, Pennsylvania. Mass will be held at the Holy Saviour Church , 407 E Main St. Norristown Pennsylvania, at 9:30am following the viewing. Burial will take place in the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
