Obituary

Giuseppina "Josephine" (DeVitis) Garzarella, 82, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at her home in Norristown. Born in Palombaro, Chieti, Italy, October 30, 1926, she was the wife of the late Fiorino Garzarella and the daughter of the late Joseph DeVitis and Marziana (Odorizo) DeVitis. She came to the United States in 1951 and was a U.S. citizen. She worked in the garment industry as a talented seamstress for over ten years before retiring to devote herself exclusively to being a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She was skilled and gifted at cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She was married to her beloved husband for almost 61 years. She was a kind, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a caring and gentle soul who was a friend to all. She is survived by children: Frank P. (Joann) Garzarella and their children, Daniel & Katherine; Maria (John) Mullane and their son Christopher; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Berardino and Nicola DeVitis, and her sister Carmella DiCamillo. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 9:30 10:45 AM at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Streets, Norristown, with funeral Mass at 11 AM, in Holy Saviour Church, 407 E.
