Helen M. Burns

Helen M. Burns , 85, of Norristown passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Abington Hospice Care, Warminster, Pennsylvania. Born November 29, 1927 in Norristown, PA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Ella B. (Gallagher) Burns. Helen was a devoted member of the St. Titus Church and a retired employee of Montgomery Hospital where she work for over twenty years as a switchboard operator. After graduating from Norristown High School, Helen worked at the Bell Telephone Company as an Operator and then at the Middleton Group where she was the office manager. Helen loved to travel and was particularly happy that she visited Rome and Jerusalem. Helen was blessed with many friends and she frequently enjoyed lunch dates with her girlfriends, also known as the "Lunch Bunch". Helen was a beloved aunt who always enjoyed spending time with her family attending various activities and sharing holidays. Helen loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed. Helen had many nieces and nephews from the Burns and Brennan families and was a Grand Aunt as well as a Great Aunt. She is survived by MaryAnne (Patrick) Brennan Tyrell, Marguerite (Jerome) Cottetta, Michelle (John) Frisco, Stephen (JoNean) Brennan, and her two dear friends, Connie & Dale Gibson. She was preceded in death by her three siblings; Mary, Elizabeth, and Francis Burns. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 1787 Sentry Parkway West, bldg #16 Suite 400, Blue Bell, PA. 19422. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 06, 2013 from 8:30 - 10:30 am, at the Caramenico Funeral Home Inc. Main & Walnut Sts, Ntn., Pennsylvania. Mass will take place at 11:00am at the St. Titus Church, 3006 Keenwood Road Norristown Pennsylvania. Burial will be held in the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
