James John Moy

James John Moy, 89, of Royersford and formerly of Roxborough passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on November 1, 1933 in West Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Sam and Mary Moy, and husband of 61 years to the late Lai Hon Joan Moy.

After graduating from West Catholic, he proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army where he was stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas until 1956 when he was honorably discharged. After his time in the military he went on to work for RCA and GE until his retirement. Jim enjoyed working in the garden, tinkering on cars, woodworking and gallivanting with the love of his life, Honey on many spontaneous road trips. He especially loved taking his grandchildren to Disney World whenever he had the opportunity.  Jim cherished the time that he was able to spend with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and a dear friend who will be missed by many.

Jim is survived by his children, James (Rachel) Moy, Jr. and Donna Moy. Three grandchildren, J.J., Shannon and Jaden; his sister, Mary Lou Chin and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents and wife Honey, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Thomas Moy, Frank Moy, Joseph Moy and Richard Moy.

A visitation will be held for both Jim and Honey together on Monday November 20, 2023 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church, 915 Vine St. Philadelphia, PA 19107. Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the church. Committal services will take place privately at the convenience of the family in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown PA, 18940. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church, 915 Vine St. Philadelphia. PA 19107.
