Jessie (Vanni) Laspina, 98, of Lansdale passed away peacefully on Thursday April 9, 2026 at St. Luke’s Grand View Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Jessie was born on March 25, 1928 in Philadelphia to the late Louis & Lena Vanni, and was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Laspina, Sr. for 65 years until his passing.
Jessie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be missed by many.
Jessie was a talented artist and many are blessed to have her artwork in their homes as a lasting memory. Throughout her life and up until her passing, she continued to explore new art mediums and was always learning. She was always willing to teach and would share her gift with anyone, whether through the Norristown Art League or informally among her friends and family. In addition to her artistic talents and pursuits, she worked alongside her husband Joe at the Laspina Market and Laspina’s Steaks and Patties – both family owned businesses in Norristown. More than anything Jessie loved her family, and cooking for them brought her immense joy. With bountiful produce from her husband’s garden, Jessie made meals both simple and extravagant. Her recipes are cherished and will be prepared in her memory for generations to come.
Jessie is survived by her beloved children, Joseph (Sharon) Laspina Jr., Michael (Diana Kelly) Laspina, Lucia (Charles) Simon, and RoseMary (Mario) Rivera. Jessie is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren and their spouses, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and beloved husband Joe.
Jessie is blessed to return to her husband and to the Lord.
