Obit for: John Jones, Jr. John Edward Jones, Jr., 73, of Norristown on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, transitioned at his residence. Born January 27, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Margaret (Brown) and John Edward Jones, Sr., and husband of Rev. Helen MC Jones. Mr. Jones was a 30 year employee of SEPTA. A well know accapella singer, he was a member of the following groups: The Norristones; Omega 5 Maestros; A Moments Pleasure; Neighbors Complaint; and Copias. Also a member of The Mt. Zion Male Chorus; the Sr. Choir; the Comfort Choir; and a volunteer with TRUST. To cherish his memories in addition to his wife are one son Ralph (aka Tony) Jones, 3 daughters: Antoinette (Jamila) Jones Ridley; Deirdre Jones; Doris Jones; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Lewis (Joan) Jones; Jackie Johnson; and Margaret Jones. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 2 - 4pm, followed by musical tributes from various groups from 4 - 6 pm, then services from Mt. Zion AME Church, 1312 Willow Street, Norristown, PA. Burial private later at the convenience of the family.
