John Michael "Timmy" Ruser, 75 of Collegeville passed away peacefully on Saturday August 18, 2012, at Arden Court, King of Prussia, PA. Born February 19, 1937 in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late John Philip and Mary Catherine (Regan) Ruser, and husband of Barbara (Brooke) Ruser. Mr. Ruser was the eldest son of a family of 12 children, he attended St. Francis of Assisi grade school and was a graduate of St. Patrick's HS class of 1954 and Villanova University, a former Neighborhood Commission of Boy Scouts for St. Gabriel's Hall, President of Audubon Oaks Jaycees, board of Visiting Nurses of Norristown, a Lector at St. Francis of Assisi, and President of CYO-St. Francis. For the past 37 years John was a Life Member for West Norriton AMBUCS, where he served two terms as President, as well as a member of the W.L. White Association and Served as District Governor, he was on the National Scholarship Committee and National Board of Directors and Big Hatters Club. During his years in the service he was an Airman for the United States Naval Air Reserves, at Willow Grove Air Station. John was a Life member AICPA and Pennsylvania Institute of CPA's, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Retired Vice President of Laminator's Incorporated, Hatfield, PA where he served approximately 44 years. Earlier in his career he worked as a CPA at Touche Ross, Served on the Board of Directors for Steel Plant Equipment Corporation, he was an avid hunter and fisherman as the Captain of his boat, "The Reel Luv", he Enjoyed snowmobiling and was a respected Trail Boss who led many wilderness expeditions, he was a certified pilot and enjoyed flying his single engine airplane, he loved spending time with his family, especially at his summer home in Sea Isle City, NJ, He traveled extensively to Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, survivors include children: John (Diane) Ruser Jr., of Blue Bell; Jeff (Georgia) Ruser, of Wayne; Brenda (Peter) MacRae, of Glen Allen; grandchildren: Alex & Colleen MacRae; and Jacob, Thomas, Samantha, & Marlena Ruser; siblings: Charles Ruser, of Trooper; Martin (Jodi) Ruser, of Spring City; Jim Ruser, of Hollywood, FL; Eleanore Owens, of King of Prussia; Dorothy Swan, of Norristown; Joanne Ruser, of Royersford; and sister-in-law, Patty Ruser. Also survived by brothers in-law Arthur Brooke (Joanne), Michael Buckler and sister-in-law Sherry Brooke Maira. Also was survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many good friends. He was preceded in death by five siblings: Mary Pigeon, Eileen Stoner, Edward, Michael, and Joseph Ruser. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 9:30-11:00 am, at the St. Francis of Assisi Church1100 W. Marshall Street, Norristown, PA. Mass will follow at 11 am. Burial in the Riverside Cemetery, West Norriton, PA.
