Joseph Loghing Obituary

Joseph Loghing, 78, of Bridgeport, PA died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at his residence. Born February 16, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Jules and Clara (Blackman) Loghing, and husband of Frances (DiNicola) Loghing. Mr. Loghing was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, a Korean War veteran serving in the tank division, and retired after 37 years working for General Electric, Philadelphia as a switch gear operator. He enjoyed big band music, playing pool, an avid fan of Turner Classic Movie channel, and was a member of the VFW, Bridgeport post 1804. Survivors in addition to his wife include children Joseph Loghing, Jr., of Oaks; Debbie (John) Cane, of King of Prussia, Diane (Pete) Cabrey, Harleysville; grandchildren Jennifer Janus, Christina Cane, Michael, Colleen, & Natalie Cabrey, sister, Mary Martin, twin sister, Claire (Saad) Alkharji, twin brother, Daniel (Theresa) Loghing, all of Philadelphia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Jules, & John Loghing, and grandson-in-law, Brian Janus. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 10, 2010, from 9 - 9:50 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Ford & Union Sts. Bridgeport PA, with funeral mass to follow at 10 am. Interment St. Augustine's Cemetery, DeKalb Pike, Upper Merion Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
