Joseph J Matteo, Jr., 78, at Mercy Suburban Hospital on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. Born in Conshohocken June 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Luisa (Callucci) and Joseph J. Matteo, Sr., and husband of the late Jennie (Carbo) Matteo, who died May 2008. A former Sterigere St resident of Norristown, he was a member of Holy Saviour Church, was a band saw operator for the Budd Co of Bridgeport and Phoenixville, retiring in 1995. He loved sports, music, and especially his grandchildren. He had been residing at Brightview since October 2008, and was an army veteran serving during the Korean War. He is survived by his 2 children: Joseph J. (Eliese) Matteo III, of Worcester; Louise (Larry) Fanelli, of Plymouth Meeting, PA; 4 Grandchildren: Joseph, IV & Tommy Matteo, and Tina Marie & Angelina Fanelli; sisters: Theresa Valerio, of Eagleville, PA; Lucy (Frank) Fusco, of Limerick, PA; Mary (Art) Ambellino, of Oreland, PA; and Louise Rosso, of Wildwood, NJ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Anne Scartozzi, Lena Carrig, and Rosemarie Zaro. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, from 9:30 - 10:45 am at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St., Ntn PA. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM.
