Joseph Charles Venezia, 86, Veteran of WW II, died peacefully the evening of Memorial Day. He was born on May 1, 1926, in Norristown, Pennsylvania a son of the late Mary (Puche) and Mario Venezia, and husband of the late Louise (Bartolomei) Venezia, who died this past March 2011. Joe was a naval veteran of World War II, where he served on the USS Yokes in Okinawa, Japan, in 1944 -46. He was member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Prior to retirement, Joe worked for United Parcel Service. He was dearly loved by his friends and family. Dad, Big Joe, Blackie...we'll miss you. May God bless you, and take your soul into His everlasting light. He is survived by his daughter Mary Louise (Philip) Morrisey, of Boise, Idaho; son Joseph, of Eagleville; grandchildren Bryan and Danielle Morrisey; and siblings Arthur (Mary) Venezia, of Roxborough; Lillian Baldassano and Mary Santangelo, both of Norristown. His Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown on Friday, June 1, at 10 am. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 - 9:50 am at the church, His burial, with military honors, will take place on Saturday, June 2, at 11 am graveside in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, E. Norriton section BK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
