Karen (Noecker) Thomas Obituary

Karen Noecker Thomas, died January 21st 2025 at her home, she was 67 years old.  She rejoins her loving spouse of 31+ years, Francis P. Thomas, III and leaves behind two wonderful children: son Andrew(Karlie) G. Thomas living in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and daughter Emily (Tyler) V. Thomas living in Pennsburg Pennsylvania. She also left behind a grandson Grayson Thomasand future granddaughter Phoebe Thomas. She was also the sister of Barbara (Michael) Noecker Young of Gibsonia, PA, Margaret J. Noecker of Gilbertsville, PA, Candia (John) Cater of Florida, and Walter R. Noecker, Jr. of Plymouth Meeting PA and preceded in death by Sarah Ann Noecker of Massachusetts. Her father Walter R Noecker, Sr. died in 1974, her mother, Anna Ragusa Noecker in 2015.

Mrs. Thomas was born and raised in Norristown where the family lived for more than 40 years participating in church and community activities. She spent all of her own life in Montgomery County, residing in Norristown, Lower Providence, Perkiomen and Plymouth Townships. She graduated from Bishop Kenrick HS, and received a BS in Textile Design from Philadelphia University, where she was a field hockey and basketball player when Title IX was formed, as well as a member of Student Government. She spent more than a decade working for Dolfin Swimwear and apparel in Shillington, PA. After taking time out to raise her children, she returned to work at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School (formerly St. Eleanor)as a Head of Nutritionist and Food Development attaining certification in food service management and assisting with after school cares program in Collegeville, PA. She spent a decade as the assistant swim coach for Pope John Paul II HS, coaching under her daughter. She volunteered in most of the organizations her children were involved in, especially the West-Mont Soccer Club where she helped coordinate uniforms and the Plymouth Swim Club where she worked with the swim team parents group. She was a gifted seamstress, operating a custom design, sewing and alterations service from home known as “Karen’s Kreations”. Her eye for color and style was amazing.

Additionally, finally being able to retire in 2024 she enjoyed spending her time visiting the beach in Ventnor New Jersey. She loved to spend time with her best friend Grayson (Grandson), which they loved to get ice cream together. She started daily walks with her best friend Sue Mundy to stay active. She loved to spend time with her family and playing board games. 

Family and friends are invited to the viewing at: Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Rd. Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 on Friday, January 24th from 6:00PM-9:00PM, and Saturday, January 25th from 9:30-10:45am. Karen’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated by her brother-in-law, Bishop Daniel Thomas at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church 3050 Walton Rd. Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00AM. Interment will be at Westminster Cemetery immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to:
