Lai Hon "Joan" Moy

Lai Hon “Joan” Moy, 82, of Royersford and formerly of the Roxborough section of Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born on September 28, 1941 in Philadelphia she was the daughter of Kam & Thiu Mark, and the loving wife of James Moy.

Joan was born and raised in West Philadelphia, attended West Catholic High School and Gwynedd Mercy College. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the Medical College of Pennsylvania, until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed gallivanting & road trips with her beloved husband and tending to her garden.  But most of all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.  She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, "Aunt Honey", and a dear friend who will be missed by many.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lai Wah Hing.

In addition to her husband Jim, Joan is survived by her two children, James (Rachel) Moy, and Donna Moy, three grand-children: J.J., Shannon and Jaden and siblings Gene Mark, Lai Lun Mark, Lai Oye Wong, and Thomas Mark.

A visitation will be held for Mrs. Moy on Monday November 20, 2023 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 915 Vine St. Philadelphia, PA 19107. Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the church.  Committal services will take place privately at the convenience of the family in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown PA, 18940. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Redeemer, Catholic Church, 915 Vine St. Philadelphia. PA 19107.
