Leonard P Piazza

Leonard P Piazza, 89, at Brightview Assisted Living, East Norriton, PA on Monday, April 6, 2009. Born in Norristown January 27, 1920, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Damato) and son of the late Josephine (Frisco) and William Piazza A former Haws Ave resident, Mr. Piazza was an assembler, making parts for knitting machines retiring in 1979 from the Wildman-Jaquard Inc. after 15 years, he was also employed by American Screw Co, for over 20 years. Also, he was a WW II army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater including Austria and New Guinea. A class of 1938 graduate of AD Eisenhower HS, life member of the Norristown Maennerchor, Knights of Columbus post #772, and longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and was a big Philly fan of all four major league teams. Survivors include two children: Leonard P. (Dianne) Piazza Jr., of Orlando, FL; Lenora (Jack) Fleming, of Norristown; 3 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren; and brother, Anthony Piazza, of Norristown. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Myranda Avery; and siblings: Samuel, Louis (Lucre), Maurice, Philip, Mary Tornetta, Charlotte Jacoby, Eleanor Watsloff, and Anna Steffy. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 13, 2009, 7 - 9 pm & Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 8:30 - 9:15 am at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Norristown with Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1100 W. Marshall Street, Norristown, PA, at 10:00 AM. Entombment St. Patrick's Cemetery Mausoleum, Dekalb Pike, E. Norriton, PA.
