Lot J. Rizzardi, 80, of Norristown passed away peacefully on Sunday May 12, 2025 at the Meadowview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lafayette Hill, surrounded by loving friends and family. Born on June 13, 1944 in Pottsville Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Mary (Pihira) & Lot Jacque Rizzardi, and the beloved husband of the late Diana (DiMidio) Rizzardi. A devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather and dearly loved friend.
At just sixteen, he faced the heartbreak of the death of his father. Determined to honor his father's memory and encouraged by family to pursue a better life outside of the coal mines, Lot dedicated himself to education. He served as president of his class at Nativity BVM High School, obtained a Bachelor’s from Kings College in Scranton, and later graduated with a Masters in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Rizzardi served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Mr. Rizzardi would relocate to Norristown where he would go on to marry the love of his life and spend 47 years together. Mr. Rizzardi worked as a financial planner throughout most of his career, and was also involved in many community groups and organizations such as the AMBUCS Business Club, he served as a Eucharistic Minister for a youth group, and taught for many years at the paralegal school in Norristown as well as the Bucks County & Montgomery County Community College. He would later go on to work for many years at ITW Tires, and Conicelli Automotive. In his spare time Mr. Rizzardi enjoyed spending time with his closest friends, and would frequently meet at the 4th street diner in Bridgeport and would consider themselves “The Breakfast Club”. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, and Eagles fan and rarely missed a game, he also enjoyed playing Softball in the Bridgeport Men’s League. Rizzardi enjoyed Italian cuisine, celebrating holidays with he and Diana’s home-cooked Italian feasts. You could often hear him singing Italian songs, and talking about various trips to the casino. But most of all he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Lot touched the lives of many people with his warmth, loyalty, humor, and boundless gusto and love for life.
Mr. Rizzardi is survived by his two loving children, Lot Joseph Rizzardi (Dawn Carrington), and Christina Rizzardi (Jason Henry); He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Jocelyn Rizzardi & Lot James “LJ” Rizzardi, and countless friends and family who will forever remember his spirit and storytelling.
