Louise (Drexler) Pomponio, 74, of Plymouth Meeting succumbed to the battle of her illness Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from her home of 55 years in Black Horse, with her family by her side. Born December 4, 1937 in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Theresa and Aloise Drexler, and wife of the late Thomas J Pomponio, who died in 2007. Mrs. Pomponio, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and best friend was a master seamstress and excellent waitress with Woolworth's in the Plymouth Meeting Mall and the former Family Diner for a number of years. She was forced to retire from waitressing with the closure of Woolworth's, and then she graciously helped raise her two granddaughters, teaching them the fundamentals needed in life. In addition, she was a member of the Mt. Carmel Club. Survivors include two daughters: Antoinette (Bruce) Rakowski, of Plymouth Meeting; Paula (Joseph) Wall, of Conshohocken, and two grandchildren: Kelly and Marie Wall. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Carbo; and siblings: Albert Drexler, Elsie Dyer, and Helen Platchek. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 12 from 9:45 - 10:50 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Fairfield Rd., Black Horse. Her funeral mass will follow at 11 am. Burial of her ashes will be in St. Patrick's Cem., DeKalb Pike, E. Norriton, PA.
