Mary Refino

Mary (Paciello) Refino, 94, of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Montgomery Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born December 10, 1917 in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Incarnata (Cardone) Paciello. She was the loving wife of Samuel Refino, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. She is survived by three children: Canio (Johanna) Refino, of Oakland, CA, Mary Ann (Charles) Schneber, and Donna (Robert) Qualls; as well as six grandchildren: Christopher (Autumn) and Donia Refino, Sean Schneber, and Maribeth (Eric) Schneber-Rhemrev of Louisville, KY; and Robert and James Qualls. She is also survived by siblings Daniel (Joan) Paciello, Antoinette Amato, and Geraldine Venonsky, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings Lucy Camuso, Ann Powers, Sue Zoltowski, and Joseph Paciello. Mary and Sam Refino operated a corner grocery store on Arch Street from 1948 to 1971. Later in life, she volunteered for the Foster Grandparents program at Silver Springs Martin Luther School for 24 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her loved ones. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 am, at the Caramenico Funeral Home Inc., Main & Walnut Streets, Norristown, PA. Mass will be held at the Holy Saviour Church in Norristown on January 11, 2012 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St., Norristown, PA 19401, or Silver Springs Martin Luther School, 512 W. Township Line Rd., Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
