Michael J. Quigg, 73, of Lansdale, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Abington Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 19, 1953, in Philadelphia and raised in King of Prussia, Michael was the son of the late James J. Quigg and Jane M. (Sweeney) Quigg. He was the devoted husband of 51 wonderful years to his beloved Marietta (Verruni) Quigg, and the proud father of Colin Quigg.
Shortly after graduating from Bishop Kenrick in 1971 Michael met and married the love of his life in 1975. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with unwavering dedication to each other, their family, and their many dear friends. Their bond was truly inseparable and served as the heart of everything he held dear.
Michael began his career as an Optician before launching his own successful business, Elite Cleaning, which he ran for more than 20 years. Even in retirement, he stayed active and social, working part-time at NAPA Auto Parts, where he loved chatting with coworkers and customers. He had a passion for cooking, was a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan, and was always dreaming up and tackling new projects around the house. His summers were spent at the family home in Ventnor, New Jersey, relaxing on the porch with Marietta, sharing laughs and stories with neighbors, and simply enjoying life.
Above all, Michael cherished time with his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a true friend to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He never missed a family event, big or small. His presence was always known to all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to live on in everyone he touched.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his son, Colin (Taylor) Quigg; his cherished grandchildren, Cadyn and Dylan; and his siblings, Margaret “Maggie” Quigg, Elizabeth “Liz” (William) Hollinger, Thomas (Rebecca) Quigg, and John Quigg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Quigg.
Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life for Michael on Friday May 8, 2026 from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the Caramenico Funeral Home, 403 E Main St, Norristown, PA 19401. A prayer service will follow the calling time at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Quigg to the FSHD Society (FSHDSociety.org/Donate), 75 N. Main St. Suite 1073, Randolph, MA 02368.
