Olympia F. (Bove) Buono

Olympia F. (Bove) Buono, 94, of Norristown passed away peacefully on Wednesday April, 8, 2026 at Gwynedd Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lansdale.  Born on June 19, 1931 in Norristown she was the daughter of the late Antonio & Mary (Martarelli) Bove, and the beloved wife of the late Anthony L. Buono.

Mrs. Buono worked for many years in the secretarial pool at Alan Wood Steel Company and would later go on to work as an R&D Secretary, Pipe Division for the CertainTeed Corporation until her retirement.  She was also involved in many church groups and community organizations such as being a dedicated and a lifetime faithful parishioner of the Holy Saviour Church, Holy Saviour Mother’s Club, the Senior Citizens Club, the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Sodality, Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, and the Norristown Class of 1949 Reunion Committee. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards on Friday afternoons with her dear lady friends, she most enjoyed hosting weekly Sunday dinners for her family and friends, and most proud of her traditional Christmas seven fish dinners she hosted as well.  But most of all she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be missed by many.

Mrs. Buono is survived by her two loving daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Pellechia, and Michelle (Stephen) Orman, six grandchildren, Stephen Orman Jr., Michael (Christine) Orman, Lauren (James) Taylor, Adrienne (Justin) Williams, Joseph A. (Angela) Pellechia, Stephanie Orman and eight great- grandchildren, Lillianna, Nathan, Corinna, Luke, Matthew, Vincent, Grace, Nicholas, and Anthony.

In addition to her parents, and beloved husband Mrs. Buono was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Angelucci, and her brother, Louis Bove.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Olympia on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 8:30AM-10:00AM at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St. Norristown, PA 19401. A funeral mass will follow the viewing at 10:00AM at the church. Entombment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Mausoleum, East Norriton, PA.
