Paul J. Scharff, Jr.

Paul J. Scharff, Jr., 86, of West Norriton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at the Markley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family.  Born on September 28, 1937 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Paul, Sr. & Carmella Scharff, and the loving husband of 65 years to the late Susan M. (Santangelo) Scharff.

Mr. Scharff was dedicated to his community and served it proudly as the police chief for West Norriton Township, as well as Norristown borough, until his retirement. In his spare time, Mr. Scharff enjoyed traveling with his wife to their mountain home, whenever he had the opportunity. He was also an avid gardener, and hunter. But most of all he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Paul was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a dear friend to  all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and he will be missed by many.

Mr. Scharff is survived by his two daughters, Sharon (Joe) Coogan of Norristown, PA and Paula (Steve) Interrante of West Norriton, PA;  Eight Grandchildren, Jessica (Ed) White, Michael, Jennifer, Caitlin, Francis, Bernadette, Veronica, Anthony; And two Great Grandchildren; Joseph and Jaxson.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Mr. Scharff was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Cahill.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Paul on Tuesday June 25, 2024 from 8:30AM – 10:00AM at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St. Norristown PA, 19401.  A funeral mass will follow the calling time at 10:00AM at the church.  Burial will take place in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery Mausoleum.  Funeral arrangements are in care of the Caramenico Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.
