Peter V. Ranieri

Peter V. Ranieri , 87, formerly of Norristown, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at St. Mary Manor, Lansdale, Pa. Born June 16, 1925 in Port Kennedy, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Marie Rose (Matozzo) and Guiseppe Ranieri. Mr. Ranieri was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He was a WW II veteran. He was called to service and missed his graduation from Upper Merion HS Class of 1944. He eventually graduated and received his HS diploma with the class of 2000 and was honored to walk with them during graduation ceremonies. Other interests were traveling to FL spending the winters in Pompano Beach; playing bocce with his many friends in leagues at Elmwood Park, Holy Saviour and Mt. Carmel Clubs. He also enjoyed bridge and socializing with his friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Bridgeport and the Maennerchor Club. In addition he was a member of the Ntn Catholic War Veterans Post 1182. Survivors include his sister in law Lydia (Catagnus) Ranieri; nieces and nephews Rose Decio, Joseph (Mary) Palaia, Rosemarie Grabowski, Anna (Larry) DeLuca; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and dear friend Theresa Bonamico. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Elizabeth Ranieri, Marion and her husband Domenic Palaia, Dominic and his wife Alice (Iacovino) Ranieri, and Frank Ranieri. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 from 8:30 - 9:30 am, at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn, PA. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1100 W. Marshall St., Ntn., PA. Burial St. Augustine Cemetery, DeKalb Pk, Upper Merion Twp., PA. Mass cards or donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
