Raymond Gambone

Raymond J. 'Bar' Gambone, 82 died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at his residence in East Norriton, PA. He was the husband of Mildred (Aloia) 'Midge' and son of the late Maria (Paschall) and Stanley Gambone. Mr. Gambone retired from the former People's Cleaner where he worked for over 35 years as the plant manager. He enjoyed his family, going to the AC casinos, was an avid gardener and sports fan rooting for the Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State. He was also a WW II Naval veteran, serving in the So. Pacific. Survivors in addtion to his wife include his children: Michael (Cindy) Gambone, Kimberton, PA; Anthony (Angela) Gambone, Audubon, PA; Donna M. (Ed) McMahon, Collegeville, PA; Maryann (Bill) DeFranco, Norristown; 11 grandchildren: Carolann Carfagno, Raymond Gambone, III, Christopher Gambone, Eric McMahon, Danielle McMahon, Matthew Gambone, Alexandria Gambone, John R. McMahon, Gina DeFranco, Anthony Gambone, and Joseph DeFranco; and 4 greatgrandchildren; 3 brothers: Stanley (Mary) Gambone, W. Norriton, PA, Justo Gambone, L. Providence Twp., PA, and Alfred (Gloria) Gambone, E. Norriton, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Raymond, Jr. and sisters Ann Anastasia and Teresa Gambone. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at 9:30 AM from Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main Street, Norristown, PA. Entombment St. Patrick's Cemetery Mausoleum, E Norriton, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday evening from 7-9 PM and Monday morning from 8:30 - 9:15 AM at Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to Temple Univ. Lung Ctr., 3601 N. Broad St., Suite 748, Phila., PA 19140.
