Richard G. “Rick” Wrona Obituary

Richard G. “Rick” Wrona, 78, of Blue Bell, PA (formerly of Lancaster, PA) passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family.  Born on July 26, 1945, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Julius & Elizabeth (Plichta) Wrona and the loving husband of Lena S.“Candy” (Marchese) Wrona, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Mr. Wrona worked for many years in the automotive industry.  He was a dedicated member of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association and operated his own dealerships throughout the years.  At the age of 24, he became the youngest Cadillac dealer in the country.  He would later go on to own many cardealerships such as, Wrona Pontiac-Cadillac, Star Chevrolet, Richard Motorcars, Richard Chrysler-Plymouth, Richard Ford, and Richard Hyundai.  Rick spent the second half of his career in the leasing business, as the Global Vice-President of Reynolds & Reynolds.  During retirement, Rick even tried his hand in the restaurant business by purchasing, renovating, and managing The Summy House in Manheim, PA.  Rick concluded his career as a courier for Penn Liberty Bank and WSFS.

Rick greatly enjoyed cooking, watching movies and television shows, telling stories, and making people laugh, all of which he proudly shared with family and friends.  He was a man of great faith and always there to lend a helping hand.  Rick was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  He will be missed tremendously.

In addition to his loving wife, Rick is survived by his two loving children, Richard S. Wrona, and Julie (Matthew) Engle; five loving grandchildren, Nicolas (Raeghan) Engle, Connor Engle, Jack Engle, Natascha Wrona, and Erika Wrona; one brother, Gregory Wrona; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
