Rita Volpe

Rita E. (Iacovetti) Volpe, 76, of Norristown died on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the home of her daughter with family and friends by her side. Born September 10, 1934 in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ida (DiVirgilio) Iacovetti and Rocco Iacovetti, and wife of the late Daniel Volpe, who died in 2006. Mrs. Volpe retired from Sears after 30 years as a sales associate. She graduated from the former St. Patrick's HS and was a member of St. Patrick's Church, liked gardening and any other outdoor activity, and traveling to the local casinos. She especially enjoyed her great-grandson Jason, her rock. She fough a couragous battle with colon cancer, and had been residing at her daughter's home at 604 E. Roberts St. for the past year and a half, where the family will be receiving relatives and friends. Surviving are 2 daughters: Sandra (Warren) Bunnell, and Leslie Volpe, both of Norristown, PA; grandson, Paul J. 'PJ' Falcone, granddaughter, Amanda Finnegan, and great-grandson, Jason Paul Falcone. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Ida Mellon and Marie Iacovetti. Visatation will be held on Wed. Feb. 9, 2011 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA with funeral Mass to follow at St. Patrick's Church, 714 Dekalb St., Ntn., PA at 11 am. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Montgomery Home Care Hospice, 25 W. Fornance St., Ntn., PA 19401
