Robert Anthony Pukas

Robert A. Pukas of West Norriton, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the age of 86. Born December 21, 1939, Minersville, PA, he was the son of Anthony and Mary (nee Kulbitsky) Pukas. Robert was the beloved husband of Emma (nee Mariani) with whom he shared  60 years of marriage. 

He was the original girl dad to Emma (preceded in death 1991), Letitia McNeil (Patrick), Mary Rose Pukas, and Georgine Pukas; adored poppy and cribbage partner to George Henry “Hank” McNeil (Victoria) and Owen McNeil; and loving brother to Jeanine Kopinetz.

Robert was a US Air Force Veteran and member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard (Willow Grove). Robert went on to serve as a Pennsylvania State Trooper. He retired from the Belmont Barracks (Troop K) in 1991 after 29 years of dedicated service. Robert was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 37 serving as its President (1984-1986). Following his retirement Robert worked as a Security Guard at GSK for ten years and retired for a second time to take on the role of a full-time grandparent.

Starting in his childhood with his father, he raised and raced pigeons with various clubs in Minersville and Montgomery County for over fifty years.

Relatives and friends are invited to Robert’s Life Celebration at Holy Saviour Church, 407 East Main Street, Norristown, PA 19401 on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM and interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
