Sal Marine

Salvatore 'Sal' Marine, 80, of Harleysville, PA died Friday, February 27, 2009 at Grand View Hospital after an illness. Born in Norristown, PA on February 2, 1929, he was the husband of Mary Ann (D'Angelo) and son of the late Mary (Palladino) and Salvatore Marine. A former Norristown resident, they had resided in the Poconos for eleven years before moving back into the area in 2007. He graduated from the former Conshohocken HS class of 1947, was an army veteran, and enjoyed music, dancing, and people. He was employed at the Conshohocken Post Office as a mailman and later on as a window clerk for over 16 years. After that, he was employed in sales with both Keystone VW and Palmer Tires. He also assisted his son in his business, Videoville World. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Joseph Marine and granddaughter Taryn, of Gwynedd, PA; brothers Michael (Marcia) Marine, of Jeffersonville, PA, and Philip (Joan) Marine, of Lafayette Hill, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Camille (DuBois) Marine in 1984, and brother and sister in law, Louis and Lena (Falco) Marine. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, March 1, 2009, 7 - 9 pm & Monday, March 2, 2009, 9:30 - 10:15 am at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA. Funeral Mass, celebrated by his nephew Rev. Msgr. John Marine, will follow at Holy Saviour Church 407 E Main St., Norristown PA, at 10:30 AM. Entombment St. Patrick's Cemetery Mausoleum, Dekalb Pike, E. Ntn. Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to Grand View Hospital, Hospice Unit, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960.
