Sammie Couchara

Sammie (Hinton) Couchara, 82, of Norristown, PA suddenly on Friday, May 7, 2010 at her residence. Born in Washington, GA, she was the daughter of the late James S and Estelle (Smith) Hinton. Survivors include her children: Henry (Jane) Couchara, of Conshohocken, Sister Carol Anne Couchara, IHM, Immaculata, John (Karen) Couchara, E Norriton, and Maria (Geoff) Jordan, Jeffersonville; grandchildren: Henry S. (Nancy) Couchara, Jr., Christopher Couchara, John F. Couchara, Jr., Jennifer (Chris) Carter, Nicholas Couchara, and Jared Couchara,; and great-grandchildren Henry W. Couchara, John Thomas & Jillian Couchara; and "Aunt Baby" Jordan Mrs. Couchara was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, SAAC, Ntn., AARP, and ElderMed America; retired receptionist from HAPSCO, a medical supply company. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening and spending joyous time with her grandchildren and pets. She was also her valedictorian of her high school, class of 1945 Washington-Wilkes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four sisters: Maryruth Chafin, Catherine Binns, Jeanne Chafin and Shirley Binns. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 9:30 - 10:30 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1100 W. Marshall St., Ntn., PA. Entombment St. Patrick's Cem Mausoleum, E Norriton, PA. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in her memory to Camilla Hall, Immaculata, PA 19345. Funeral arr. are with the Caramenico FH Inc., Ntn., PA.
