Sharon Marie Carroll

Sharon Marie Carroll, 72, of Norristown,  PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with ALS and Parkinson’s disease.

Born on September 9, 1951, in Norristown, PA, Sharon was the daughter of the late Robert J. & Frances R. Schwenk.

Sharon was an integral part of managing and supporting a local finance business in Norristown, PA, as well as managing a retail business on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ where her beautiful wit, humor and grace always was a beautiful constant and motivation.  Her most beautiful smile and unparalleled humor and wit is to truly be remembered. Sharon made it a point to bring laughter, humor, and love to a moment.  Sharon was a beloved sister, friend, and colleague to so many who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. Traveling with family and friends to her beach home in Ocean City NJ, to Lancaster for fall and spring getaways, or on a cruise excursion were some of her favorite pastimes. Exploring thrilled her, but that wasn't at the center of her heart: the titles 'mom' and 'Mom-mom' were at her core. In service to these titles, she spent untold hours at various swim clubs in order to ensure her children had opportunities to learn lifelong lessons; she spent countless December nights decorating, cooking, and wrapping to ensure that every Christmas was magical for her children; in her final days, she opted to watch 'Paw Patrol' - not because of Paw Patrol's riveting dialogue, but because it brought happiness to her grandchildren. Her last concerns were of her family.

Sharon is survived by her three loving children, Amanda (Brent) Wagenseller, Chris (Lauren) Carroll, and Tim (Cheryl) Carroll; Sharon is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Natalia, and Bernie Wagenseller; and two siblings, Robert Schwenk, and Donna (James) Varvaris.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Sharon on Monday August 12, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd. Norristown, PA 19403. Sharon’s funeral mass will follow the calling time at 11:00AM at the church. Burial will take place in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, East Norriton, PA 19403. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s memory to the ALS Association, 1015 Virginia Dr. Suite 110, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
