Stephen T. Roffo, Sr. 74, of Norristown passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 3, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 27, 1949 in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Gerald, Sr. & Angelina (Piccirilli) Roffo, and the loving husband of 31 years to Phylis (Gairo) Roffo.
Mr. Roffo was a graduate of the St. Thomas More Catholic High School, class of 1967. In 1973, Mr. Roffo graduated from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 Apprenticeship Program and worked as a proud and skillful heavy equipment operator for many years. He went on to work as a Business Agent for 14 years until his retirement. He found many lifelong friends and brothers at Local 542. In 2019, Mr. Roffo was honored as an Active Member of Local 542 for 50 years and his loyalty lives on through his family. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed spoiling his cats and feeding wildlife. He was an avid pool player, and enjoyed golfing with friends, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his family; Mr. Roffo was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be missed by many.
In addition to his devoted wife Phylis, Stephen is survived by his four loving children, Stephen T. (Lisa) Roffo, Jr., Stephanie Roffo, Christine Roffo, and Maureen (George) Eld; One brother Gerald Roffo, Jr; Six beloved grandchildren; Elana Roffo, Gabriel Roffo, Gianna Elliott, Sienna Elliott, Ryan Eld, and Monica Quinn. Mr. Roffo is also survived by his special nieces Lisa Roffo and Lori Roffo as well as many loving relatives and lifelong friends. He was honored to stand as the Godfather to five. Mr. Roffo was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Robert.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Mr. Roffo on Saturday January 13, 2024 from 9:00AM - 10:45AM at Caramenico Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St. Norristown, PA 19401. A funeral mass will follow the viewing at 11:00AM at the Holy Saviour Church. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas More Catholic High School Alumni Association, PO Box 294, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
