Walter S. Dozer, 58, born November 12, 1952, passed away March 4, 2011. Predeceased by his parents Helen (Geldon) Dozer and Stephen J. Dozer, Walt is survived by Anne Tornetta Dozer, his wife of 29 years, and his cherished son Stephen Anthony Dozer. Born in Bethlehem, PA, Walt graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1970. He received his Bachelor's degree in finance from Villanova University in 1974 and a Master's degree in taxation from Widener University in 1990. He earned his CPA license in 1976 and remained a member of AICPA and PICPA throughout his long career in accounting, finance and taxation. Walt's career included public accounting at Arthur Young, GR Resources, Grant Thornton, as well as positions at Fortune 500 and venture capital companies. Walt's presence will be missed by many but most especially by the family members who survive him. He is survived by two sisters Valeria Dozer and Dolores (Thomas) Wainwright, his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Justin) Murphy, Thomas (Desiree) Altemus, Stephen (Brunella) Altemus, Thomas (Gail) Wainwright, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Wainwright. Also surviving Walt are his parents-in-law, Josephine (Spera) and Anthony Tornetta, two sisters-in-law, Rosalie Hetrick, Maria (John) Jacobs, a niece Alissa Hetrick and three nephews, Matthew Thomas Hetrick, Eric Jacobs and Adam Jacobs. Walt was blessed with twelve great nieces and nephews and two great grand nieces. He was predeceased by his niece Cathleen (Carl) McCulley and his brother-in-law Thomas Hetrick. Walt was a parishioner of Visitation BVM Roman Catholic parish in Trooper, PA for the past 26 years. Previous parishes included St. Stanislaus in Bethlehem, St. Francis of Assisi in Norristown and St. Ann's in Marietta, Georgia. Walt enjoyed many passions in life. He earned his Second Degree Black Belt in mixed martial arts from Tiger Shulman. As a troop leader of Boy Scout Troop 369, Visitation BVM, Walt served as Troop Committee Chairman for ten years with his service ending in 2010. His passion for cooking served the adult leaders of Troop 369 as he was the designated chef for the leaders on Troop 369's monthly camping trips. Walter mastered many skills including gourmet cooking, stained glass and gardening. He enjoyed music and kept abreast of contemporary musicians and read history books voraciously. Friends and family are warmly invited to celebrate Walt's life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday March 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Visitation BVM Church in Trooper. Visitation with family members will be from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, DeKalb Pk., E. Norriton, PA If so desired and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop #369 at 196 N.
