Willie Lee Noble Obituary

Willie L. Noble was born in Somerville, N.J. on January 29,1947 to Pasco and Josephine Noble. He passed away on August 27, 2025. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Baptist Church of Somerville in 1952.  Willie attended the Somerville public school system.  He graduated from Somerville High School in 1965, where he was well known for his athletic ability in both basketball and football.  Willie enlisted in the Navy in 1966 and proudly served his country for 6 years. While stationed in Norfolk, VA he briefly attended Hampton University.  After being honorably discharged, he returned to Somerville and began a career in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Over the years, Willie enjoyed much outside of working. He was a member of a local singing group, The Criterion’s, enjoyed jaunts to Atlantic City and was a diehard NY Giants fan.  While employed at E. R. Squibb and Sons, Inc. he met Ina and they became inseparable. They married on September 20,1986 and remained lovingly committed to each other.  During that time, they lived in several different places, eventually settling in the Philadelphia area where Willie transitioned to a sales position in men’s high-end clothing. A perfect fit for Willie’s dapper sense of style. After a successful career in retail, he retired in 2012 and enjoyed his final years with Ina faithfully and steadfastly by his side.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his sisters Victory Emanuel and Vivian Garnere. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ina, sons Tyrone and Clance “CL” (Joyce Matthews), Willie (Darlene Napier) and his sister Tangila Napier, sisters Cathy Dorsey and Patricia “Patti” Noble, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
